The latter part of the 15th century saw significant changes that marked the onset of the Early Modern Period, such as the fall of Constantinople in 1453, the invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg around 1440, and the beginning of the Age of Discovery with Christopher Columbus’ voyage in 1492.
