Calendula (Calendula officinalis, common marigold) is a flowering plant in the daisy family. The petals are edible and can be used fresh in salads or dried.
Composition
The flowers of C. officinalis contain flavonol glycosides, triterpene oligoglycosides, oleanane-type triterpene glycosides, saponins, and a sesquiterpene glucoside.
Twenty seven different compounds have been identified from different Calendula extracts.[1]
