Apigenin is a flavonoid contained in the aqueous extract of Chamomile. This flavonoid has demonstrated significant anxiolytic activity.[1]

    • Protected the brain against aluminum fluoride-induced oxidative stress.[1:2]

At doses in excess of 50 and 100 mg/kg the essential oil of M. recutita resulted in a significant increase in the numbers of spontaneous locomotor activities, inducing anxiogenic activity (causing anxiety).[1:3]
